Now your real adventure begins. First you are going to take a bike and ride for around 1:30 hours to get to the starting point of your trek. Up to this point, you will have car support. Following the ride, you are going to hike into the mountains on the same trails that the Cabecar indigenous group uses. The trail is through the forest and pasture lands. The hike takes approximately 4 hours to get to a small town called Vereh.

In Vereh you are going to meet with the Venegas family; they are going to provide the support for the next 2 days. You are going to stay in 2 different local houses or tents as your preference. You can join the family in their every day activities, explore the area or just drink coffee and rest. All the meals are going to be provided by the family. The house have limited supply of electricity by solar panels, the family goes to sleep around 8 pm. You are going to run the Top section of the Pacuare River. The rapids of the river are a class III and IV. You will have the exclusive experience of having the river just for your group. All the rafting equipment is carried by horses; few people have the great opportunity of rafting this section.

On your second day of adventure, you are going to hike to the Indigenous reservation to meet with Ligia’s family. It is approximately 3.5 hours hike. They are the only not indigenous family in the area of Alto Pacuare. The family had been very involved with the community promoting the construction of the local elementary school and road infrastructure for the use of the community. At the end of your rafting trip, our car will be waiting to take you back to Turrialba, hot shower and a good meal are my recommendations for the rest of your day.

These package includes transportation from Turrialba, biking, hiking, equipment, bilingual tour guide and safety kayaker. Two nights lodging, two breakfast, three lunches and two dinners.
