FAQ´s

» Can you provide me with references for your trips and company?

Explornatura has worked hard to compile extensive guest commentaries. We would also be happy to provide you with the contact information for past clients if you have specific questions in mind.

» How can we find airfare to Costa Rica?

Explornatura does not include airfare in our vacation packages; however we do recommend one of our travel partners, Get Lost Travels, for cheap airfare and reliable, quality service. Just click on Airfare and this will take you to their website where you fill in the Request form and they will contact you with different options for your flight. Be sure you put Explornatura as your Travel Agent so that they can arrange your travel with your specific needs in mind.

» How long have you been in business?

Explornatura has been operating in the tourism industry in Costa Rica since 1999 and its owners have been involved in the industry for over 20 years. Because of our experience and knowledge we can guarantee you only the best that Costa Rica has to offer!

» Is there access to internet?

In the more 'touristy' and larger cities there is ample access to internet cafes that have decent internet connections (now most are cable, high-speed) and there are an increasing number of establishments that offer free wireless internet as well.

» What are the entry requirements?

All visitors (including children) are required to have a passport that is valid for at least thirty days after your arrival date in Costa Rica.

Visitors from the following countries are allowed to stay in Costa Rica for up to 90 days without a visa or special permit: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Japan, Panama, Paraguay, Uruguay, United State and all European countries except from Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, Malta, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Visitors from the following countries are allowed to stay in Costa Rica for up to 30 days without a visa or special permit: Australia, Belize, China, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Venezuela.

» What is Costa Rican food like?

Typical Costa Rican food consists of white rice, black beans, meat (chicken, beef, or fish), green salads, etc. and is delicious! All of your meals with Explornatura will be prepared by us with the freshest of ingredients to ensure top quality. Any restaurant that we choose will also meet rigorous sanitary and quality standards. If you have any special dietary needs, we ask that you let us know beforehand so that we can make appropriate adjustments to the menu to accommodate you.

» What is the time zone in Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is in the same time zone as U.S. Central Standard but does not observe daylight savings.

» When is the best time to visit Costa Rica?

The weather question is a common one because of Costa Ricas tropical climate. In general the climate in Costa Rica is very consistent, with average temperatures staying in the same range year round.

During the dry-season (December to April) you can generally expect warm, dry days with showers (depending on geographic location). In the wet-season (May to November) you can generally expect warm mornings with light showers in the afternoons (depending on geographic location). However, these seasons vary on where you are in the country, so they arent necessarily a very good reference if you are trying to choose your vacation time to miss rain. Our advice - the best time to come is when you can get away!
