Costa Rica Volcano Tours

The Turrialba volcano is located in the Central Mountain Range of Costa Rica and reaches an altitude of 10,955 feet. It is one of the five active volcanoes in the country. There are a total of 109 volcanoes in Costa Rica.
We start the tour from Turrialba where we load into our 4-wheel drive transport and head north to the volcano. During the 1 hour and 45 minute drive to the crater you will be amazed at the views of the Turrialba valley and by the landscape, as we get closer to the top of the volcano. You will be leaving the tropical jungle behind and climbing into the beautiful high-elevation cloud forest and beyond that to the páramo. As you climb into the clouds you will feel like you are leaving Costa Rica behind as the temperature gets colder and the vegetation changes dramatically.
This truly is the best way to see the most spectacular views of the Turrialba Valley and on a clear day all the way to the Caribbean coast.
What to bring: Hiking boots or tennis shoes, short or long pants, sweater, rain-jacket or poncho, sun block and a hat. Bring extra clothes and towel for the end of the tour.
